Before using any delicate or dangerous tool you need to get a personal introduction (Einweisung, Maschinenkurs) from one of our tutors. We have to especially warn the new users of the potential dangers of each tool. Using any tool without meeting its access requirements (as found on the respective hardware page) is against our Werkstattordnung and will jeopardize your insurance coverage in case anything happens!

The wiki pages in this category do not replace the personal session but are written to make sure every introduction contains all the relevant information. They are essential for the tutors but can also be interesting for any Makers who want to read up on a machine in advance of getting their personal introduction.

Of course safety isn't everything - if you are interested in learning about software, technology or craft techniques, check out "seminars".

Page Structure

This might help as a starting point for writing a new introduction page - just copy, paste and fill in the blanks :-)

This is the content required for an introduction to our <TOOL NAME/LINK> - '''reading this does NOT replace the mandatory session with a [[tutor]]!''' It will make it a lot quicker though ;-)

Let's begin! First off, make sure you have read the machine's <MANUAL>.
