Top 1: Plenary Questionnaire Results

Top 2: Get Involved! Available Jobs

  • Steady stream of new members - new ways to contribute!
  • We are looking for motivated members to take over jobs
Supervisors & Tutors

Host Making Hours (e.g. Wednesday and Friday evening) and teach new members about our machines. We need more supervisors to offer reliable Making Hours and tutors to keep introduction waiting lists nice and short! It's a great way to get integrated more deeply with the space.

Volunteers: Lars, Kalun

Repair Café:

We have been contacted by the Heidelberger Repair Cafe. The current concept would be:

  • Organise up to four Saturdays a year of Repair Café in the Space (first 1-2 test runs, not everything has to be fixed now).
  • Exchange with the volunteer list of the "normal" cafés
  • Focus on "mechanical" - wood, 3D-printing, *perhaps* turning or other metalwork (little to no electrical work, unless someone likes to offer it - but the "normal" dates already do that quite well)
  • most of the work takes place in the common room; people with suitable repair pieces can go 1:1 (or 1:2, depending on the activity) with members to the workrooms to get machine work done or handwork demonstrated

Working Group Public Relations:

We need motivated people that help with posting on social media. This has been a great attractor for new members, but we do not post enough. A dedicated PR working group could help to create a more steady schedule.

Volunteers: Ciaran, Kalun, Sebastian

Need a channel where people can post content for pictures! Use #pr? New channel?

Working Group Funding & Grants:

We need a motivated group to find and propose grants. This requires some creative writing and is a great way to support the space and gather experience on a relevant field.

Project: Develop the Storage Row:

We are nearly booked out with storage space. This project should aim to build a two-level shelve that allows to subdivide cubic meters to rent to members.

Volunteer: Ciaran, Hannah

Consideration: Reduce price for old (smaller) storage lockers.

Finding a Suitable Email Provider for the Space:

This one-time job needs someone to research available email hosters for the space. This would allows us give email-addresses to supervisors and (possibly) engaged members.

Volunteered: Theo

We need more tutors

Kalun: 3D Printers/Laser Cutter

Idea: Train the Trainers session: We need to lower the barrier for people to come forward and become a tutor. Also good for our mission of education! We might need to find a trainer if we want to professionalize it.

Volunteer: Lars can do seminar on training the trainer

Top 3: Ideas for Seminars and Workshops

With new members comes new knowledge. Seminars are a great way to provide experience and knowledge to a broader audience! And in the end, spreading knowledge is the ultimate reason why we run the space. It also helps us with justifying and keeping our charitability.

What can you give a seminar in?

Sebastian: Outdoor sewing (for trekking, travel, etc.) -> Brings in a new crowd

Lars: Sewing for babies/kids

Lars: Project Saturday: Do a project that requires multiple tools

(Sebastian): How to use hand tools: make a focused workshop on several tools that are

Lars: Train the trainer seminar

Regular "supervised build cool stuff with kids day"

Lars: Ask about "Jugend hackt" -> Python Programming

All those seminars could possibly be advertised for free in newspapers

Program for gifted gifts (Hector academy) -> Lars is asking

LVH -> Martin

Seminar for Urban Gardening II: Hannah & Martin

Top 4: Tor 4 / Betterplace / Acquiring Funding

A quick recap on the TOR 4 program, our betterplace campaign and how to move forward with funding

Folder with previous Proposals is available in the nextcloud

Todo: Organize Text snippets to reuse in nextcloud

Volunteers: Keno, (Sebastian), Lars

Top 5: Do-Something Days

We should plan the next DSD! The last one (summary) took place in July and got us a clean(er) sink, a new shelf in the E-Room, progress in the kitchen, better Wi-Fi aaaaaaand...a water damage! ;)

What will we do next time? (please no further water damages)

Keno: remind people to clean the fuck up

Todo: Provide more cleaning equipment: More Brooms, more adapters for Vacuums

Ciaran: will get some brooms and dustpans for the space

Possible Projects:

Gaming corner: Make it a video production corner (Kalun)

Self-built router table: Lars

Volunteer for DSD: Lars
