The Tyme Avon is an old, but solidly built lathe that has replaced our flimsy Güde 1000.

Specs

We seem to have the Model ATL301 with 36" (915 mm) between centers and a bed length of 52" (1320 mm).

max. workpiece diameter (above bed): 280 mm (11")
- max. workpiece diameter (swiveled 90°): 495 mm (19.5")
- max. workpiece diameter (swiveled 180°): 610 mm (24")
max. workpiece length: 900 mm
spindle speeds: 470 - 750 - 1150 - 2000 rpm
motor: 550 W (3/4 hp)
spindle thread: M25 × 2 mm; internal No. 2 morse taper (MK2)
workholding options:
- headstock: drive center, faceplate, four-jaw chuck, ...
- tailstock: No. 2 morse taper (MK2) - accessories: rotating centers, our "usual" drill chucks also fit

Speed Selection

The lathe can run at various speeds depending on which pulleys are connected by the belt:

spindle speeds resulting from each belt position

Do not put excessive tension on the belt - you'll be very happy about the belt slipping in case you've made a mistake and the tool digs into the workpiece!

Accessories

An alternative tool rest for our Tyme Avon
We have two barrels which can be used with the Tyme Avon - we are usually using the right one, since it spins with the workpiece.
