The Makita DTD173 is a compact and powerful 18 V cordless impact driver designed primarily for driving screws and bolts. It features a brushless motor, electronic speed control, and a lightweight housing for reduced user fatigue and excellent handling in confined spaces.

The impact mechanism delivers high torque through rotational hammering, allowing efficient fastening with minimal kickback. Speed and impact force are controlled via the variable-speed trigger and electronic modes.

This tool operates with 18 V LXT batteries and uses a 1/4" hex bit holder for quick, tool-less bit changes.

  • No torque clutch is included
  • Louder than a standard cordless drill due to impact mechanism
  • Should not be used for delicate or fine mechanical work

Key Features

  • Brushless motor for high efficiency and long service life
  • Variable speed trigger for controlled fastening
  • Electronic modes for different applications
  • Compact and lightweight design
  • Built-in LED work light
  • 1/4" hex quick-release bit holder
  • Compatible with Makita 18 V LXT battery system

Proper Use

  • Designed for driving screws and bolts, not for drilling
