A slicer is a programm used to convert 3D files such as STL in to G-code than can be interpreted by a 3d printer. In the slicer you choose important parameters such as layer hight, wall thiknes, support, and print speed. For the printers in the farm we use Slic3r because it's open source and the recommended slicer for our printers
