Slic3r is a free and open source slicing software. It provides an alternative to Cura.
Usage at the CoMakingSpace
Prusa, which is the manufacturer of the 3D Printers we are using at the CoMakingSpace, forked the program and added adjustments specific for the Prusa printers ("Slic3r Prusa Edition"). We used it as our main slicer on the shared computer until June 2019 when we switched to its successor, PrusaSlicer.
