Rasp Bits

Tool-default.png
Synonyms: rotary rasps;
DE: Freihandfräser, Rotationsraspeln, Rotor-Raspeln
Material: wood
Used with: drills (no impact!)
Location: Wood Workshop (drawer under drilling table)
Access Requirements: read this page
Similar (More or Less): router bits, rasps

Rasp bits or rotary rasps are driven by drills and allow you to do light freeform work where a router is not suitable and you are too lazy for hand tools ;-)

Keep in mind that they are not very aggressive and need their time - don't force the tool into the wood!

Project Ideas

freehand grooves that would be very difficult with a router, e.g. cable and housing space in a cool lamp
