Fritzing is a simple electronics prototyping software. It allows you to assemble your circuit on a virtual breadboard to document it, which can be handy when sharing project descriptions.

For more advanced functions, you might be interested in KiCad as well.

You can draw and enhance SVGs of custom components: heise (DE)

However, it is arguably a much better use of your time to learn a proper EDA program like KiCad if you plan to create custom parts or PCBs. [2]
