A knife. From Japan. For leather!
You hold this kind of knife in your fist with the blade down and bevel facing inwards/towards the workpiece (i.e. to the right when using your left hand). [1]
Besides cutting, a Japanese leather knife can also be used for skiving (Ausschärfen). [2]
Sheath
The blade is currently just protected by a piece of cardboard, but making a sheath would be a great beginner's project!
