Piano hinges are a typical "Maker" material as you can easily adapt them to your needs (i.e. cut to the desired length).
When installing a long hinge with sunk ("flathead") screws, make sure you hit the holes dead center with your screws or a surprisingly large bend may propagate!
You may have seen piano hinges in your locker or some self-made jigs.
