Step drill bits are especially nice for drilling through sheet metal as they make a smoother exit than regular twist drill bits.

As a little bonus, the holes usually come out slightly countersunk - not at the right angle to receive a sunk screw, but already deburred (entgratet).

We currently have these drill bits at the Space:

  • 4-12 mm (2 mm steps)
  • 4-20 mm (2 mm steps)
  • 4-32 mm (2 mm steps)
drilling a rivet hole through two pipes
step drill bits can also be used to deburr holes
