The "10 Million Dollar Stick" is a little helper that can be priceless for you because it saves your fingers when working with small pieces on the chop saw.
Use
Similar to push sticks for other saws, use a 10 Million Dollar Stick to hold down workpieces near the blade where your fingers should never go while it's spinning.
You can put one or two feet next to the blade, the other side of the stick rests on the machine's table (or the workpiece, if long enough).
Not entirely clear? Here's a quick video!
Make
Lukas collected a couple of appropriately shaped branches for simple self-made versions - putting together a few bits of scrap wood could also work, but make sure there are no screws involved! Cutting into the stick should never be dangerous.
- length: approx. 30 cm (for Bosch GCM 12 GDL)
- feet: rounded over by rasping, could also be rubberized
