Fritz & Franz need to be used for workholding on the [[Sliding Table Saw|sliding table saw]] especially when cutting through small or thin workpieces.
Place the small part directly in front of the crosscut fence and press the workpiece against it with the larger part. If you use the parallel fence to align the workpiece, make sure to pull it back so it does '''not''' overlap with the blade (two fences rule)!

Similar (More or Less): Edging Shoes

Fritz & Franz need to be used for workholding on the sliding table saw especially when cutting through narrow workpieces (< 240 mm).

Place the small part directly in front of the crosscut fence and press the workpiece against it with the larger part. If you use the parallel fence to align the workpiece, make sure to pull it back so it does not overlap with the blade (two fences rule)!

the parallel fence must be pulled back all the way whenever using jigs like Fritz & Franz on the sliding table

Please note that you need to use the edging shoe whenever you are trimming thick and/or warped boards as these need to be held down in addition to end-to-end pressure.

Making & Upgrades

This jig is rather easy to make from scratch (see links below), but we ordered a kit from Chiemgau Lebenshilfe Werkstätten to save time and get the BG recommended rubber edging.

Precise scales on both parts would be a nice upgrade!
