JPEG (or JPG) is a common format for digital images. These pixelated and often compressed files are fine for many purposes, but you may want to vectorize an image before incorporating it into logos or other scalable and clean designs.

High-quality photography relies on JPEGs with very low compression or less lossy formats such as RAW or TIFF.
