Expansion to Domino Joiners

I think we should update this introduction to also cover similar machines (Dübelfräsen) like upcoming Domino Joiner. What should we call it?

• Joiner Introduction
• Loose-Tenon Joiner Introduction
• Mortising Mill Introduction
• Joinery Machine Introduction
• ...

I propose to use "Joinery Machine Introduction" because "Joiner" is more often used for the woodworking professionals carrying out this type of work and may also be confused with "Jointer" as in Jointer-Planer Introduction. The other two suggestions are more specific, but also harder to understand/remember (and I don't think we need that level of differentiation) --Lukas (talk) 03:32, 30 March 2025 (CEST)

Here are a few suggestions from the AI - I think some of these are not applicable, but there might be good ideas among them:

1. Loose Tenon Joinery Tool → Loose Tenon Joinery Introduction (Describes the type of joint it makes and avoids brand names.)
2. Floating Tenon Cutter → Floating Tenon Cutter Introduction (Also descriptive and unlikely to clash with other tools.)
3. Mortise Joinery Tool → Mortise Joinery Introduction (Highlights the mortising action and emphasizes the joinery role.)
4. Portable Mortiser → Portable Mortiser Introduction (Accurate functional description, good if other mortising tools exist.)
5. Slot Mortiser → Slot Mortiser Introduction (More traditional woodworking terminology; well-known among enthusiasts.)
6. Joinery Router → Joinery Router Introduction (Reflects the way Domino-like tools work — using rotary cutters.)
7. Domino-Style Joiner → Domino-Style Joiner Introduction (If you're okay with a soft reference to the popular format, without brand dependence.)

My first google search indicated, that a Mortiser seems to be a different tool 🙈If this is correct, I would prefer either Loose-Tenon Joiner or Joinery Router :) NitramLegov (talk) 12:57, 9 April 2025 (CEST)

I prefer "Joinery Machine". If we see a mortiser in the (far) future, "Handheld Joinery Machine" would clarify things, but I doubt it ;-)
"Joinery Router" would also be clear enough I guess, but nobody says that (might be a case of Denglisch). The other suggestions are either too detailed or simply wrong in my opinion... --Lukas (talk) 13:40, 14 April 2025 (CEST)
