High Pressure Laminate

Synonyms: DE: "Trespa-Platte"
Suggested Tools:
Contains: paper; melamine or phenolic resin
Similar (More or Less): Melamine

HPL (high pressure laminate) is somewhat similar to wood and very dense.

Cutting

Carbide-tipped circular saw blades for (hard) wood reportedly work just fine.

When using a jigsaw, metal blades and low pendulum action should reduce tearout [1].

Tapping

You can apparently tap threads for metric screws directly into the material! We do not yet have experience with this, but if it's any similar to tapping hardwood you should apply oil to the pre-drilled hole.
