Oscilloscopes display voltage signals as they vary over time. It is possible to determine the wave-form, frequency, amplitude and noise level of the input signals. Multiple inputs allow for measuring phase differences between signals. Thus, oscilloscopes are very useful to debug electronic circuits.

The Siglent SDS814X HD is a four channel digital storage oscilloscope with 12-bit resolution and a bandwidth of 100 MHz.

Decoding the I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN protocols is possible via the serial bus trigger.

The display is a capacitive touch screen. Alternatively, it can be controlled via USB keyboard / mouse. There are two USB-A ports which can also be used to connect storage devices. In the back, there's also a RJ45 Ethernet port which allows for remote control via a web browser.

The SDS814X HD is programmable via the SCPI language. It is possible to automatize data aquisition e.g. in Python. A programming guide is available on siglent.eu.

There's also a video review of the Siglent SDS814X HD on youtube.

This tool is not ready for use yet since not all commissioning steps have been completed. The process is also tracked on GitHub. Feel free to contribute to making it usable, any help is very welcome!
