Computers
Computers (or PCs) are used in the space at various locations. Most of our members bring their own laptops, but we have dedicated PCs available for operating certain machines, such as the 3D Printers or the Laser Cutter. For seminars, we have a selection of Laptops available which can be used flexibly.
Standard Setup
The CoMakingSpace standard setup is based on a recent Windows installation. Using an autounattend.xml generated by schneegans.de. With this, the following customization is applied (only the important settings are mentioned):
- Language set to english, german keyboard layout
- Time Zone set to Berlin
- Local only accounts are created
- Admin, password protected (Ask Martin if you need it)
- Maker, no password
- No Password expiration
- Only protected operating system files are hidden in explorer
- Always show file extensions
- RDP is enabled
- CoMakingSpace WiFi is setup
- Software is getting installed using winget
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
- OnlyOffice
- GIMP
- Inkscape
- KiCad
- Winget Auto Updater
- Chrome and Firefox settings are applied
- Skip the first run tour
- Never check for the default browser
- Disable Password manager
- Clear History, etc. on shutdown
- Windows Updates are applied including driver and optional updates

This laptop was a donation and is used mainly for seminars and operating the large format inkjet printer. Thus, the following software has been installed:
- Adobe Photoshop Elements
- The driver for our EPSON Stylus Pro 7800
This tool is not ready for use yet since not all commissioning steps have been completed. The process is not yet tracked on GitHub. Feel free to contribute to making it usable, any help is very welcome!
