MIG/MAG describes two similar arc welding methods involving pressurized gas to protect the weld pool, hence also called GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding).
- MIG: metal inert gas welding (Metall-Inertgasschweißen)
- MAG: metal active gas welding (Metall-Aktivgasschweißen)
Besides the gas, these methods require a welding gun which can automatically feed filler wire into the weld.
We have an inert gas welding machine for MIG welding at the Space.
