SLA material

you wrote that resins would be too expensive. For example this high temp resin "only" costs ~50€/kg which is not that much more than 1k of PHA (~34€) while it should withstand 180 °C and produce better/cleaner results. LabCrow (talk) 10:03, 4 May 2026 (CEST)Reply

Thanks, the prices seem to be quite volatile? One of my resources recommended Phrozen TR300 and I could only find it for way above 100 €/L at the time, but now I see it for 77 € on schichtwerkstatt.de.
My second obstacle of course is access to an SLA printer - would you be willing to give some of my models a try if I supply the resin? Lukas (talk) 13:38, 6 May 2026 (CEST)Reply
Of cource, I can do that LabCrow (talk) 19:37, 6 May 2026 (CEST)Reply

Frame

As written in the page for PHA (but not for this project?), there is a need for a stabilizing frame (wood/aluminum). Wouldn't it be possible to produce a suitable aluminum frame with our CNC mill? This would also help with the cooling of the mold compared to wood and reduce the time needed between injections. LabCrow (talk) 10:05, 4 May 2026 (CEST)Reply

Yeah, such a frame is planned but so far I've just been testing molds with a large machine vice and clamps. Same effect, a bit more fiddling around, but okay for the beginning ;-)
Unfortunately the overheating problem I described happens inside the mold, so a "cooling" frame would not really be possible. Lukas (talk) 13:40, 6 May 2026 (CEST)Reply
