Idea
Klask is a pretty nice game for two players (there is also a round 4 player design...if you design one I would be interested to build one to).
As a Technik-Teacher in secundary education I always wanted to build the Board-game "Klask" with my students. The first time I played the game was 2016 at the "Spiel" in Essen. For my university I had to make a full planing of a Teaching unit and so I want to share my design for future improvements and ideas how to make it better.
As a warning: This is quite a big project in terms of cost (aprox. 25€ per each game) and building time (aprox. 5-6 full 90min. units) in terms of school teaching. That is the reason why it is only possible to build with older students 9th or 10th grade, but along the way there is a lot to learn about woodworking, planing a work process and reading technical drawings.
Creation Steps / Process
I already have documented the process in a file so I will just upload that file: [...I still have to learn how to upload pdf files...as soon as I am able to do this I will]
Further Ideas to improve the design:
- instead of building the playing figures out of wood as I did, I would 3D print them, because the build process in itself is complicated enough. Here is a design on Thingiverse that is really promising: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6852019
- If you want you can laser-cut the frame of the game and just glue it in place like in this design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2738523
- I also found these nice boxes to store the figures...I haven't tested if it fits my desgin, because my design may vary from the original board game in thickness of the plywood and the size of the cutouts is defiantly different: https://www.printables.com/model/452810-klask-accessory-box
