We are using this 800 Watt infrared heater for small warming-up sessions during the cold time of the year. As projects which require sitting / working with hands only (such as electronics projects) can be especially inconvenient when it is cold, the heater is located next to a desk.
As our electricity is quite pricey, we have installed a ESPHome based smart plug next to it.
The heater can be turned on by pressing the little button on top of the smart plug. It will then automatically turn off after a given time (currently 10 minutes), which can be set from within our HomeAssistant. It can also be turned off manually by pressing the same button again.
