My grandfather drives an old car for which replacement parts are hard to get. Lately his wireless key stopped working because the buttons were worn down. Luckily, one can get a replacement housing from China for a couple Euros.
The switches on the PCB were replaced as seen in the gallery below.

We haven't had SMD buttons laying around, therefore some THT buttons were used.

Desoldering using the hot air rework station. 300°C, 35% flow.
