My grandfather drives an old car for which replacement parts are hard to get. Lately his wireless key stopped working because the buttons were worn down. Luckily, one can get a replacement housing from China for a couple Euros.
The switches on the PCB were replaced as seen in the gallery below.

We haven't had SMD buttons laying around, therefore some THT buttons were used. -
