This floating shelf uses a french cleat hanging system. It's a fairly basic design, and I used screws to connect all panels. I then added some filler and painted over the filler, so that the screws are not visible.
Learnings from this project: no matter how hard I tried sanding, filling and painting: the wood structure always shows through to a certain degree. So, for a 100% smooth finish: use MDF instead of plywood. (Photos to follow)
