Scrap Wood

We collect leftover pieces of wood from all kinds of projects (stored in the wood workshop on the left side of the common room door).
While the small pieces may only be good enough for burning eventually, they might be useful as test pieces, e.g. for laser cutting. As a rule of thumb, pieces that are smaller than a spread hand (20x20 cm) or not rectangular should go into the wood waste instead of storing them.
The larger pieces have the highest potential to be incorporated into projects, of course, but if you need a specific thickness or material you can often get away with smaller bits!
Caution - recycled wood may contain nails, screws or other metal parts. Take care to remove them or cut/drill somewhere else if you can't!
Another way of getting very cheap or even free wood is using reclaimed wood.
