Hey Drew, since you´re interested in learning basic programming skills: There will be a microcontroller development seminar this saturday: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/microcontroller-programming-with-platformio-tickets-66765057083 It´s free and targets beginners as well as people with a little experience in arduino programming.
