A slicer is a programm used to convert 3D files such as [[STL]] in to GCODE thant can be interpreted by a [[3D Printer Farm|3d printer]]. In the slicer you choose important parameters such as layer hight, wall thiknes, support, and print speed.

For the printers in the [[3D Printer Farm|farm]] we use [[Slic3r]] because it's open source and the recommended slicer for our printers
