::ENGLISH SUMMARY
::only a maximum of 5 persons from maximum two households are allowed in the Space at the moment! To make this restriction as fair as possible, we came up with these rules:
::* stick to your times - please avoid overstaying as well as booking more than you need "to be safe"
::* only one future reservation at a time: so please wait with booking your next slot until the current one has at least started
::* if possible, book at least a day in advance! That way, we can spot misunderstandings/overbooking in time
::* if a key is used against these rules, we'll have to block it for the rest of the month without further warning
}}
Since existing bluetooth speakers do not provide enough power, NL decided to build custom speakers for usage on the camping ground of different festivals.

Software
The system is based on a regular Rasbian Lite installation, which gets adjusted by the installation script in the following way:
# Installation and configuration of mopidy and useful extensions
# Installation and configuration of bt_speaker

Hardware
From an electronics perspective, the system uses a Raspberry Pi in combination with a X400 HAT.
It gets powered by a couple of lead batteries.

The wiring is as follows:
GPIO 22 & GND are connected to the shutdown button.
GPIO 14 & GND are connected to the status LED.

The case is built with film faced plywood:
<br clear="all"/>
<gallery mode=packed-hover heights=250>
File:MusicStation_10.jpg|First draft in SketchUp
File:MusicStation_07.jpg|First test of the assembled box
File:MusicStation_11.jpg|Added some handles
File:MusicStation_08.jpg|And finally control buttons
</gallery>

Further Improvements
Check possibility to use a ESP32
On the last Festival, I was mainly using the bluetooth functionality. Playback using Mopidy as well as the Wifi Hotspot was not really used. For bluetooth playback, a ESP32 should be enough. This should lower the needed power significantly.

Shutdown board in case of power losses
Since the system is powered by batteries, there is a possibility of sudden power outages due to a lack of remaining battery power. Therefore, there should be a circuit which either switches from one battery to another and then possibly sends a shutdown signal to the system.

Note: This is only needed for Raspberry Pi based systems.

Different speaker
So far the system is based on Visaton PX-10 speakers. Since they don't provide Thiele/Small parameters, I didn´t calculate the needed box volume and just made a 12 liter box for each speaker, which is most likely way too much.

The next version should use different speakers where the ideal box volume is known.

Make a workshop out of it
Once the new design is complete and tested, there could be a seminar in which we teach others to build their own bluetooth speaker.

Design a 3D-Printed front for the controls
A very common type of pliers are combination pliers which can be used to cut, grip and squeeze. We have a few of this kind.

Combination pliers are, for example, well suited to tighten and trim zip ties if they are used in easily accessible places or to bend thin sheet metal.

Needle-nose pliers are similar to combination pliers but are typically used for more delicate gripping and bending tasks. For example, they are quite useful for removing staples from soft wood. Where these pliers are still too big, you may want to use tweezers.

They come in a bent and straight variety.
Tongue-and-groove pliers can be useful to grip nuts and bolts or pretty much any other material as they are widely adjustable. However, an actual wrench is a better choice if the size you require is available.

They also yield pretty high gripping force due to their long handles which may be useful in some squeezing or crimping applications.

<br clear="all">

|similar=bolt cutter, flush cutters
Diagonal cutting pliers are used to snip wires, e.g. in electrical work. Although a cutter is included in combination pliers and many needle-nose pliers as well, these can be sharpened much more easily and enable the user to reach wires in tight corners as the cutting edge continues over the entire length of the tool head.

Flush cutters can reach even tighter spaces and are used for delicate electronics work.

<br clear="all">
A very common type of pliers are combination pliers which can be used to cut, grip and squeeze. We have a few of this kind.

Combination pliers are, for example, well suited to tighten and trim zip ties if they are used in easily accessible places or to bend thin sheet metal.

<br clear="all">
Needle-nose pliers are similar to combination pliers but are typically used for more delicate gripping and bending tasks. For example, they are quite useful for removing staples from soft wood. Where these pliers are still too big, you may want to use tweezers.

They come in a bent and straight variety.

They also yield pretty high gripping force due to their long handles which may be useful in some squeezing or crimping applications.

Grinding discs are thicker and sturdier than cut-off wheels which makes them suitable for grinding ("sideways" material removal). You should not attempt a cut with these discs, they have a much too large contact area then and will overheat and cause strong kickback.
Depending on the type of work different kinds of dust/vapour protection is needed. Generally they are classified into P1-P3, where P1 protects against 80%, P2 94% and P3 99,95% of particles. When working in the workshop while dust is generated a P1 or P2 mask should be worn.

Single-use dust masks like the one pictured are rather cheap, but it is recommended to use a proper half mask with the appropriate filter as these seal much better on the face.

Toxic vapours can be filtered via active carbon.

Hooking up the shop vac to power tools whenever possible greatly reduces the need for these and keeps the room around you clean as well.

Examples of especially hazardous materials while sanding/cutting etc. (also see "dust"):

* hardwood
* steel (especially stainless)
* composite materials (like carbon/glass fibre)
* various kinds of plastics
* silicon (Silizium) - that's why you don't actually use sand for "sandblasting"
Vises (or vices in British English) are auxiliary tools to hold your workpiece, e.g. when you want to saw or drill through it. They have a fixed and a moving jaw which grip stuff when you turn the handle.
Bench vises are the "typical" vises you've probably seen on "universal" workbenches. The front jaw is often the moving one but some vises have a fixed front jaw.

Besides holding stuff, they are useful for bending metal pieces or tightening rivet connections (e.g. in some scissors) with great force and control.
Machine vises look very different from bench vises but serve the same purpose: making sure your workpiece doesn't go flying when you apply force to it. They are designed to hold the workpiece without damaging it and have usually a low profile to allow machining a large portion without remounting.

They may be secured by the user's hand (e.g. on a drill press) or bolted to the machine table (e.g. for milling).
Lukas got a large woodworking vise for the self-built Roubo workbench (mounting instructions: https://www.feinewerkzeuge.de/G307781.html).

This vise has a quick-release so you don't have to stand there turning the crank for ages - simply turn it counterclockwise for a bit, then pull or push to where you need the vise jaw, and turn clockwise to tighten the grip on your workpiece. Turning counterclockwise for more than one revolution has no effect, you need to pull the vise open once it is unlocked.

A slide-up bench dog is integrated in the vise; corresponding dog holes will soon be added to the Roubo workbench so you can make use of this feature as well.
